Scholarships

“Until we get equality in education, we won’t have an equal society.”

— Sonia Sotomayor

PFLAG Indianapolis offers two $1,000 scholarships for Indiana residents accepted for enrollment by an accredited institution of higher learning, including at the graduate level or a vocational institution. The scholarships can be awarded to Indiana residents attending institutions outside of Indiana.

In memory of Betty Salwak:

This $1000 scholarship is in memory of Betty Salwak, a straight ally, who served as Indianapolis PFLAG’s Secretary. Betty's mission was to teach us that religion and equality can go hand-in-hand. We lost Betty too soon but her tenaciousness and sense of selflessness lives on.
